Founded in 1973, Wingspan Life Resources is a growing and dynamic nonprofit organization that provides services to people with developmental disabilities in 26 residential homes throughout the Twin Cities.
The mission of Wingspan Life Resources is to help people who are challenged by age, ability or health to realize their own unique gifts, talents and dreams. We fulfill this mission by providing individualized support services that promote personal choice, independence, dignity and fellowship with the community.
The Program Director is responsible for the development, supervision and direction to a team of three to six House Coordinators, providing them with vision toward excellence in service and guidance in staff development, as well as providing effective oversight in quality, compliance, and financial responsibilities of the house.
The Program Director participates in the development, implementation, and supervision of all services for people with developmental disabilities and is responsible to assure that services provide the safe and respectful treatment of the individuals living at Wingspan Life Resources while promoting their active participation in all aspects of life through personal choice, individual empowerment, and the enhancement of independent living skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree or two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience with people with developmental disabilities
  • The ability to successfully pass a background check as determined by the Department of Human Services
  • A valid Driver's License, reliable transportation with proof of auto insurance, and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Check
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, interpret and present general business correspondence with employees, consumers, guardians, and case managers
  • Proficiency in using a computer and Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word and email
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills; the ability to create a productive work environment through supportive communication and forthright problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability and interest in contributing to the leadership of the overall agency, beyond one's designated niche
  • Knowledge of state and federal requirements as they pertain to the Consolidated Standards 245B
  • Experience with creating Person Centered Plans for individuals with disabilities.
