Duties:
This position is responsible for performing multiple repair and maintenance tasks throughout the day, which could include, but is not limited to painting, plumbing such as leaky toilets, faucets, flooring, outdoor landscaping, and general facility repairs.
  • Respond to maintenance work orders in a timely and efficient manner
  • Procure supplies and materials to carry out maintenance repairs, adhering to specific cost constraints and department policy
  • Routinely and effectively communicates with the Supervisor (both verbally and written) regarding project and repair status
  • Perform preventative maintenance, for example cleaning out gutters, checking down spouts, inspect furnace for servicing needs, change filters, etc
  • Perform simple carpentry, electrical and plumbing repairs, for example fixing screens, cracked windows, replacing locks, toilet repairs, simple electrical, painting, install laminate floors, repair appliances, maintain smoke and carbon detectors, fix leaks
  • Remain current in safety regulations, building codes, and agency policies.
 
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, G.E.D
  • 3 years experience in facilities maintenance field, minor carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate, read, and write in English
  • The ability to successfully pass a background check as determined by the Department of Human Services
  • A valid Driver's License and reliable transportation with proof of auto insurance, and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Check
  • Physical Requirement: must be able to climb and work safely from ladders, shovel snow and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
